Blood Biomarkers

Blood biomarkers are objective, quantifiable characteristics
of various biological processes involved in many diseases. These state-of-the-art diagnostic tools allow us to diagnose, monitor, and prognosticate a variety of diseases and conditions in ways we never thought possible.

Inflammation

C-reactive protein (CRP) for dogs and Serum Amyloid A (SAA) for cats are biomarkers that can alert us to acute internal inflammation caused by trauma, infection, or cancer. We use these same biomarkers to monitor response to inflammation therapy.

Pancreatic

Canine pancreatic lipase (cPL) and feline pancreatic lipase (fPL) provide us with a quick quantitative assessment of pancreatic inflammation.

Coagulation

D-dimer is a very sensitive marker of clotting ability in pets. It is especially useful before surgery, where blood clotting is essential.

Cardiac

We use NT-proBNP and Troponin for pets at high risk of heart disease to verify if the heart is showing signs of disease or malfunction, even when preclinical, as is often the case. We also use these biomarkers to monitor response to therapy.

Key Features

The newest biomarkers and diagnostic technologies help us obtain a faster, more accurate
diagnosis, improve objective monitoring, and enhance our prognosis of disease progression.

Better Diagnosis

Early disease detection is crucial to long-term health and wellness. Biomarkers help identify diseases early by using fast, easy, non-invasive diagnostic tools that our clients can afford. Results in less than 15 minutes.

Improved Monitoring

We can now use biomarkers to monitor every disease case
with objective, data-based results, putting less emphasis
on subjective observations.

Enhanced Prognosis

Quantitative, objective results increase the accuracy of
prognostic information, lending more credence to your
expected outcomes.
